The stripes on Your back,

Nails in Your hands and feet, and

A thorn in Your brow…

Were put there for me…

[EVEN if it were JUST me]

…for my sickness

Spiritually.

You loved me when I was covered in sin and dead in my transgressions…

You loved me when I wasn’t yet born or even a thought to my parents…

Because You don’t care about the “appearance” of things-

All you want is ME.

You woo me in and draw me to Yourself,

To transform me into the bride for Your Son…

In desperation I seek You…

I hope…

I expect…

You.

Yearning for Your presence,

I come to Your Throne.

I fall face down, in awe of You,

As Your grace and love overwhelm my whole being.

You lift my head, and hold me in Your arms,

Showing me that YOU will never leave me,

That YOU will prove faithful and true.

Sending me full of Your peace,

 to go and do Your will.

I feel it deep inside,

It’s something I’ve tried to hide.

But it gets louder, stronger,

When I suppress it longer.

My head says… no,

You really can’t go.

Why would I long to be,

In a place that may not want me.

My heart says…YES Lord!

Move me forward!

To do Your will is the desire of my heart…

But is this Your will or mine???

My Spirit man is getting weak…

How can I make it through another week?

When the call is getting louder and stronger,

And each day I long for it more?
