Relationship between the creation of man and the cretion of his soul.

July 8th, 2009 by DannyNelson

Question posted on Yahoo! Answers: So today I was thinking about the creation of Man, and then I branched off and thought about the creation of our soul. Every religion teaches that our souls are eternal. I’m sure no one has the answer but I just want some insight. How do you think our souls were created?

One point that I would like to make is that Christianity does not teach that souls are eternal. By definition, something that is eternal has no beginning and no end. We believe that God himself is the only eternal being since He had no beginning. It is true that human souls have no end, but they do have a definite beginning. When that beginning is I am not absolutely sure. I would initially speculate that, in terms of time, it happens at conception.

Your question seems to be one of wanting to know the actual process by which souls are created. I think the answer, however unsatisfying it may seem, is that God speaks forth that which He wants to exist.

Interesting thoughts. I’ll let you know if I come up with anything else.
