$1,000 To the Charity Chosen by Theophilux Users if 100,000 follow us on Twitter

July 8th, 2009 by DannyNelson

For better or worse, Twitter has become the gold standard for quick and easy communication with whoever wants to hear what you have to say. Millions of people use Twitter on a regular basis to see what their friends and favorite organizations are up to.

Here at Theophilux, we believe that our community is a valuable tool for Christians to help each other grow closer together and closer to Jesus Christ. We use Twitter to let people know what is going on in the community and we want more people to know so that they can benefit from it as well.

To that end, we are giving you an incentive to tell as many people as you can to follow Theophilux using their Twitter account. If our members and Twitter followers can convince 100,000 people to follow us at twitter.com/theophilux, then we will write a check for $1,000 to a non-profit charity chosen by Theophilux members.

We are going to go ahead and begin taking nominations for charities to receive the $1,000 check. You can nominate any church or non-profit organization by leaving a comment on this post. Those organizations who receive the most nominations will be included in a poll where Theophilux members choose the charity to receive the $1,000 check.

Are you going to be a part of raising $1,000 for charity? Get started by sending a tweet to all of your followers at twitter.com.

UPDATE: Twitter didn’t like our following activity even though we believe our actions were withing the Twitter guidelines. Our twitter.com/theophilux account has been reset and we need followers! The $1,000 challenge is still on even though we’ve had this setback. Follow @theophilux today and help raise $1,000 for charity.
