Seven questions from a 16 year old who needs help with religion.

July 3rd, 2009 by DannyNelson

Question posted on Yahoo! Answers: I am 16 and i am going through the worst point in my life so far. Since i was young i have been extremely close to my Granny, who is extremely religious. She has been sick as of late and has perhaps a week left to live and it hurts me so much. I want to know a few things about if God is real

1) Has anyone ever heard God speaking to Jesus?

2) Do we have reliable sources of Jesus doing miracles?

3) Has anyone ever died briefly and seen heaven or hell?

4) Can we be sure that after Jesus died, He tore down the temples and prior to that he brought all sorts of diseases to Egypt.

5) If he did bring plagues to Egypt, how do we know it was an act from God?

6) What inconceivable prediction from the bible or from Jesus that has happened?

7) Were did the concept of God come from, as we know that the bible was written from the word of mouth which is very unrealible, is their nt a chance it was made up by a man as a story?

  1. kingsbro Says:

    1. I don’t recall anywhere that God was speaking to Jesus. Jesus did pray to God but no records of God speaking back.

    2. Yes, we do. The Bible has recorded many of Jesus’ miracles.

    3. I am assuming you mean die briefly and see heaven or hell and then come back, and I believe I heard that some say they have, and have written books about it, but I don’t think they can be very reliable.

    4. Yes, as I have said, the Bible recorded that.

    5. 9 plagues could be replicated by the Egyptians, the only one that couldn’t was the 10th plague, killing the firstborn of every family. So going off of that, we know at least one was an act of God and knowing that Moses only used a staff to do the plagues, you can believe that they were all acts of God.

    6. Well the Old Testament had many prophecies of Jesus Christ that became true. The Old Testament actually prophesied that Jesus’ garments would be given away by casting lots and that actually did happen so you know how specific the prophesies were and they did happen.

    7. Well the New Testament was written when all the witnesses were still alive, so if the New Testament was a lie, the witnesses would of said so. Also, the Bible was inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16 says it is God-breathed). 2 Peter 2:21 says this:

“For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
