Can someone please explain the beauty of Psalm 137:9?

July 2nd, 2009 by DannyNelson

Question posted on Yahoo! AnswersCan someone please explain the beauty in this Psalm? I’ve been told before that Psalms is one of the most beautiful parts of the Bible. I’m stumped by this one though. Can anyone explain it?

  1. kingsbro Says:

Psalms 137:9 is talking about Babylon, which is a wicked nation.

Psalms 137:1-6 is talking about how God will not forget His people but Psalms 137:7-9 is talking about how God will destroy His enemies.

The beauty of it is that God is faithful to His people and that God is holy and just against His enemies.
