Question posted on Yahoo! Answers: Isn’t free will essentially pointless? If God knows everything he knows who will make the ‘right’ choice before he even created the universe! He knows exactly what you will do. He also knows that everyone will have different choices and a different ability to make them. Our genetics and environment shape us as people influencing how we think and behave and even the choices we can and will make. I live in England. I have freedom of religion, thought and expression. Raised by loving pagan parents who encourage me to find ‘the truth.’ I have graduated from University, never faced starvation, been in a war and suffered from no mental handicaps etc… My choices will be different from others with a different background. Surely God already knows what each persons ‘outcome’ will be. He can’t be omniscient for nothing!
