My church, Christ Church, EPC, has a daughter church in Playa Grande, Honduras. The following is a prayer request for that community that I received in my email this morning:

The people in Playa Grande need our prayers. In the wake of this past Hurricane that hit Honduras this week, there was much rain that followed. Because of the heavy rains, the main bridge to the entrance of Playa Grande [and many other towns] was washed away by the river; so, there is no way in or out of the towns. People are without food and running out of money [due to the bridge being washed away]. Please pray for protection and provision for the people that are being affected. Also pray that the government steps in and fixes the bridge soon so the people can get more food, etc…
